RE-DESIGNing THE LIMONCELLO COOLER (MADE FROM PLASTIC)
redesign for sustainability in material and use
Apart from the aesthetics and character (or lack thereof) of a cooler made entirely of plastic, it's also ranks rather low on the sustainability scale.
This is why Waarmakers was approached by Villa Massa to do a complete redesign of their plastic cooler.
We set out to find materials with the right characteristics to keep a bottle of limoncello nice and cool when the weather is warm, while at the same time steering clear of the character flaws of plastic.
Cork proved to fit the bill perfectly; a material from a renewable source with the right isolating properties to keep a cold drink chilled.
A simple shape in warm and beautiful materials, combining the functional with a, well, timeless aesthetic that will not be thrown out when the temperature drops.
