Implementing design thinking and creative tools in policy making
Beleidslab is an experimental initiative of visionary officials from the Dutch Ministry of internal affairs (BZK), in collaboration with Kennisland.
Inspired by the Danish Mindlab, Beleidslab experiments with new approaches to policy making, implementing techniques and tools from the creative field to find innovative solutions to so called 'wicked' problems (NL; taaie vraagstukken).
Waarmakers was asked to support BZK by introducing design methods and by facilitating in creative sessions, and eventually also by visualising the concepts from the process, and the process itself.
A fruitful effort, as the second Beleidslab in 2015 continues from the insights gained from the first, and with an even larger part for Waarmakers to play this time around.
